What an exciting three days I have just spent doing Dianna Effner’s D.E.E.P. Seminar at the Land of Oz Dolls studio with Connie Zink.  Connie was our instructor and through her teaching my dolls came to life in my hands.  It was thrilling to see the depth of color and dimensional depth of eye emerge, layer upon layer of paint brought more ooh’s and ahh’s from everyone in the class.  Connie was patient with each one of us and spent a lot of time individually showing us how to fix our mistakes and ways to successfully do each step and detail of the D.E.E.P. technique.  I am going to do another class, back to back, with Connie – “six days of in depth painting instruction”.  I am anxiously waiting for class to begin tomorrow so I can see the next set of dolls take on an aliveness that I have only been able to accomplish with this technique.  Thanks Connie for teaching me.  Thanks Dianna for the D.E.E.P. technique and sculpting.                                                                                                                                   Wheelersburg, OH.

 

The eye painting seminar taught by Connie was awesome!! I have wanted to learn this technique for sometime.  It was great to take this class from not only an outstanding doll artisan but also a seasoned teacher.  Connie has the ability to teach this multi-step technique in a simplified way so that each of us could achieve beautiful doll eyes.  I appreciate her patience, ability to teach and the knowledge of dollmaking she freely shares with the students.  You can be sure that when taking a dollmaking class at Land of Oz Dolls you will learn new dollmaking skills and ideas while meeting dollmaking friends.

I attended my first doll-making seminar at Connie Zink’s Land of Oz Dolls.  I knew I was going to learn a lot but I had no idea it would be so much in a short period of time.  This D.E.E.P. seminar was not the least bit stressful.  Everything just rolled along and everyone had great fun and dollmakers companionship.  Connie demonstrations were great.  She would show us each step necessary to work toward completing our doll heads.  She followed the technique sheets and they are written very thoroughly.  The information is uncomplicated and easy to follow.  As a novice dollmaker I am confident I can continue using Dianna’s techniques taught by Connie and begin a whole new face in my dollmaking career.  Thank you Connie for being a super teacher and thank your Dianna for your great techniques.

We are waiting for our heads to cool after just finishing Connie Zink’s first D.E.E.P. seminar.  We have just completed three very full and most interesting days.  The method of painting eyes and the idea of putting the cheek color on by using dry china paint really fascinated everyone.  Connie, as usual, was a very informative, and patient instructor.  Once again, as in the past, I’m leaving feeling very good about my dolls and about once again, all the new things Connie has encouraged to teach all of us in three days.  Her expert way of painting and her many hours of working with all of us is very much appreciated by all of us in the first D.E.E.P. seminar at Connie’s Land of Oz Dolls.  Connie continues to amaze all of us with her never-ending knowledge and creativity.
