This Market Production Garden was established on this site in 1992 however, the Etnyres have been growing vegetables for market for 30 years.  They have 6 acres planted in sweet corn and another 6 in vegetables.  They are using many innovative techniques to help them get a jump-start on the season including the use of high tunnels.  These “hoop houses” allow them to plant directly in the soil very early while keeping the plants safe from early spring frosts and freezes.  In addition to the vegetables which include eggplant, zucchini, peppers, cabbage, broccoli, corn and tomatoes, they also have apple trees and raspberries.  If you’ve ever thought about growing vegetables for market, the Etnyres are great people to talk with.
