Garden #11 Ron and Mary Ellen Brown
6428
IL. Rt. 84 - Thomson
The
front yard island garden is new this year.
Mary Ellen thought the newly planted trees looked lonely so she installed
the other plant material. She has been filling the front window box with
petunias for years, and all the plantings around the house have been in place
for quite a while. As you turn into
the back yard you will see the “ultimate” cottage garden…complete with
small cottage (or decorated chicken coop), be sure to notice the heart-shaped
path which Ron constructed for the garden and the heart shape on the cottage
garden gate. This garden will take
you back in time and it is brimming with a wide variety of perennials designed
for full season blooms. Note the
various garden art pieces in all the garden areas which attract the eye while at
the same time complementing the surrounding plants. The border garden behind the house in front of the shed was
planted last year. A special treat
for you! See the cottage garden
before it becomes a TV feature in late September on the DIY Channel and early
October on HGTV. The garden was
taped earlier this year for Ron and Mary Ellen’s daughter’s TV show which
has become syndicated.
