Community Garden

A group of Savanna residents wanted a community garden and to be part of the Plant-A-Row for the Hungry Program.  Carroll County Master Gardener Connie Zink spearheaded the project, was offered the back yard of a vacant house with southern exposure, then she and her colleagues got busy removing sod, rototilling and planting.  This is the first year for this project. Twenty-three pounds of vegetables have been donated to the Savanna Food Pantry with more coming in spite of heavy rains, and flooding, last month.
